As our energy and development needs drive demand for advanced, efficient storage solutions, Italian business FZSONICK has specialized in providing innovative technology based on sodium nickel chloride, otherwise known as molten salt batteries.
The company’s experience in producing microgrid plants and technological solutions have brought about various partnerships with major European players in energy production and transmission.
FZSONICK is actively involved in the EU Horizon 2020 research programme on the Greek island of Tilos, which is testing innovative projects with storage technologies aimed at making the use of renewable energy more efficient. The project, which is being developed with 14 other companies, represents an important confirmation of the role that energy storage will play in future energy networks, where the concept of “smart network” is translated into greater safety, efficiency, flexibility and sustainability.
In Italy, FZSONICK has taken part in the installation of a smart polygeneration microgrid on the university campus of Savona. The project, part of an accord between Siemens Italia and the University of Genova, aims to manage the campus’s energy production and consumption, the equivalent of a small town of 5,000 to 10,000 people. FZSONICK is supplying a Battery Energy Storage System for the project. The pilot project could be replicated on a larger scale, even in urban areas.
