Gozo Island Meeting - 26th & 27th May 2022

In October 2019, Ministry for Gozo, The Gozo Business Chamber and Greening the Islands have signed an agreement granting Gozo the qualification of “Green Island Member” in the Greening the Island Observatory. The Gozo Regional Development Authority (GRDA) will be assisting the Ministry for Gozo.

The GTI Observatory was launched in 2018 to support the origination of sustainable projects on islands worldwide through task forces and reports, promote public-private collaboration, develop policy recommendations, identify   financing opportunities, creating coalitions for tenders, while engaging all relevant stakeholders. As part of GTI Observatory process, a meeting will take place in Gozo Island on the 26th and 27th of May 2022 and will be hosted by the local government.

The meeting will involve the local key stakeholders, Ministries Representatives, Corporate, Universities and Industry Association Members and will focus on energy, water, mobility, waste, and sustainable agriculture topics.

The meeting will also include sessions on air quality in combination with ports electrification, bicycle business models and policy infrastructure and best practices by the GTI Corporate Members.

The main target is to support the Ministry for Gozo and GRDA to develop an efficient decarbonization strategy identifying needed projects and most suitable solutions as well as possible financing opportunities for the sustainability of the island.
