Island projects evaluated by the GTI Awards

What we want

  • We want islands to be a model for circular economies in harmony with nature.
  • We promote synergies in the nexus between the three pillars of the green economy – energy, water and mobility. Over the years, we have developed a new “broad” concept of circular economy that extends to waste, agriculture and eco-tourism, investigating ways to test and replicate innovative projects and best
    practices.
  • We work to disseminate knowledge and best practices so as to accelerate the sustainability and self-sufficiency of islands and remote locations, acting as a catalyst in relations between private and publicstakeholders.

Mission & Values

Greening The Islands matches islands needs with innovative solutions and facilitates the origination of projects for the sustainable transition of islands and their replicability on the mainland by acting as a catalyst in relationships between governments, business, academia and citizens, disseminating knowledge and best practices.
