Mission & Values
Greening The Islands matches islands needs with innovative solutions and facilitates the origination of projects for the sustainable transition of islands and their replicability on the mainland by acting as a catalyst in relationships between governments, business, academia and citizens, disseminating knowledge and best practices.
Observatory
A think tank to analyse island needs and identify innovative solutions in energy, water, mobility and other environmental sectors to support the definition and the implementation of strategies and plans of governments and corporates.
Academy
A mini-master to support local governments, utilities, companies and other key island stakeholders in grasping the complexity of any action aimed at implementing national and international directives related to the green transition of islands.
GTI App
The GreeningtheIslands.Net web platform – the “community of the islands” – provides a variety of communication and training tools for the network: live conferences, online discussions, webinars and thematic forums.
Conferences
These forums not only promote synergies and explore the nexus between the three pillars of the green economy – energy, water and mobility – but have gone beyond to launch a new concept of a “broad” circular economy that extends to waste, agriculture and eco-tourism.
